When massive data centers demand more power, utilities build expensive new infrastructure — and those costs get passed straight to your electric bill. Utilities warned Idaho lawmakers this would happen. Dustin Manwaring ignored the warnings, co-sponsored the bill anyway, and then voted three separate times to protect sweetheart tax deals for Big Tech.

• 2024 – HB 585: Co-sponsored a bill to extend data center tax breaks to crypto mines and block local rules on them - even as utilities warned about your rates. Idaho Statesman, March 21 2024

• 2025 – HB 315: Voted NO on putting a sunset on the blank-check exemption.

• 2025 – HB 328: Voted NO on a simple seven-year limit for new data centers.
