Bio:

Mary Shea is a civil rights attorney, child welfare advocate, educator, and longtime community leader who has spent her career working to make government and legal systems more responsive to the people they serve.

After earning her law degree from the University of Richmond, Mary began her career in the Virginia Attorney General’s Office before moving to Idaho. For more than 25 years, she has represented children, families, foster parents, grandparents, and individuals facing difficult legal challenges. She is a Certified Child Welfare Law Specialist and has also served as an instructor, advisor, and program coordinator at Idaho State University.

Mary’s leadership includes serving as President of Idaho Legal Aid Services and Board President of the Portneuf Health Care Foundation. As a mother, attorney, educator, and community advocate, she has dedicated her life to expanding opportunity, protecting individual rights, and strengthening Idaho families.
Mary is running for the Idaho House to bring that experience, compassion, and practical problem-solving to the Legislature.
